It started with a radio show.
Stone Payton and Todd Schnick host the High Velocity Radio Show, a weekly show that shines a light on authors, consultants, executives, and entrepreneurs. One pleasant morning in September of 2009, Todd Youngblood was a guest on the show. [Here is the show]
What soon followed will quickly become legend. Youngblood was kind enough to bring Stone and I along on a visit to one of his clients to explore finding some creative ways to use the social web to integrate into their marketing.
On that fateful first trip to Birmingham, Alabama, the three boys – on the recommendation from our Twitter network – went to Dreamland BBQ for lunch. And instantly fell in love with the place.
Ultimately, the trio did some work together on a project for this client, and immediately branched out into some other adventures. Recognizing that each of them had different skill sets and strengths to bring to the table, they began to explore the possibilities of teaming up together.
But it took another meal at Dreamland to seal the deal. In town to continue work on their joint project, the trio continued to formulate a plan on how the three of them could tackle the market place. The goals? Simple: run a successful business, AND, have a lot of fun doing it.
